The basic categories of vinyl are:
Cushion Flooring
Contract Flooring
Anti-slip Flooring
It is highly recommended that you acquire the services of a professional
flooring contractor for best results!
The surface area which is to take the vinyl must be smooth and free from any dust or contaminates.
All wooden floors i.e. floorboards, must be prepared with either hardboard or ideally at least
4mm plywood, 6mm being preferred.
This must be previously acclimatized on site, and stapled / nailed at four inch centers to avoid any distortion.
Concrete surfaces must be screeded / sealed with a propriety leveling compound to acquire a smooth,
flat, dust-free finish.
If the floor is direct to earth, a satisfactory damp-proof membrane must, if not already, be installed. This can consist
of a two-part epoxy membrane, which is rolled or trowelled over the entire floor, and where possible, lapped
up the existing walls.
When all preparation is cured / acclimatized, the vinyl can be fitted according to Manufacturers
recommendations.
